In 2019, 2.6 million pounds of waste was collected off the streets of New Orleans and sent to the landfill during just two weeks of Carnival season. A large portion of this waste is imported, disposable, plastic beads and un-recycled cans and bottles.

‘ON THE ROUTE’ PARADE RECYCLING

Distributing and collecting recycling bags along the uptown parade route in order to keep unwanted throws and disposable waste out of our landfills, streets and storm drains.

SUSTAINABLE THROW CATALOG

A platform to discuss, compare and buy throws that are made from sustainable materials, biodegradable, functional and/or benefit local businesses or non-profits.

‘TRASHFORMERS’ MARCHING KREWE

The “marching Krewe with a job to do” makes a statement by collecting recyclable waste from parade goers in an interactive and enthusiastic way instead of producing it.

FUTURE OF MARDI GRAS EXPO

An annual event meant to connect marching Krewes, float riders and parade organizers to vendors of high quality, locally made Mardi Gras throws, goods and services.
